Submission T & C’s

  1. Story to be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12 with 1.5 spacing in a Word or Google Doc.
  2. Please ensure correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Seek help from teacher/parent/guardian if possible.
  3. Your story should address the theme: Unsung Heroes–real life person/people/animal not noticed or praised for hard work, courage or great achievements.
  4. Word count 750 words max
  5. Do not include the author name on the story document. The submission form is the only place the name should appear.
  6. Parent/guardian permission to be agreed as per submission form.
  7. By submitting your story you agree to it being published in the 2022 anthology along with your author name, if you are long listed. You will receive a free e-copy of the anthology if you are featured.
  8. One entry per author.
  9. Some stories may be selected to be read out by a judge on the YouTube channel. By entering the tournament you agree to the story being read but will be given a chance to opt out if selected.
  10. Entries received after the submission deadline will not be entered into the Writing Tournament. Deadline will be 12 midnight Western Australia on Monday 31st July.
  11. A maximum of 300 entires will be allowed. If 300 entries are received before the deadline the submission will be closed.
  12. By joining the Writing Tournament you agree to be added to the mailing list. This will be used for the majority of communication but you can unsubscribe at any time.
  13. The rights of all stories entered into the Writing Tournament remain with the original authors, whether published in the anthology or not.
  14. The parent/guardian of all entrants are ultimately responsible for their child’s engagement with the tournament. Due to age category differences some writer’s stories, or links via email correspondence (i.e. to judge websites), will not be appropriate for the younger writers. Please review links and stories before sharing with the child entrant.
  15. The judges’ decision is final.
